Theory
A theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of evidence that has been repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation. In scientific contexts, theories serve as frameworks for understanding phenomena and making predictions. Unlike hypotheses, which are preliminary ideas or educated guesses that require testing, a theory is developed after extensive evidence supports it, allowing it to explain and unify various observations. Theories may evolve over time as new evidence emerges, but they remain supported by the current understanding of scientific knowledge. Examples include the theory of evolution by natural selection and the theory of relativity. In broader terms, a theory can also refer to a systematic and abstract explanation of events or phenomena in various fields such as philosophy, sociology, or economics.
